A big focus for us at St Giles is to help people to grow deeper in their relationship with God, learning what it means to be disciples who are becoming more and more like Jesus. We believe that being part of a small group that exists to be a supportive, accountable community is a core part of helping us grow as disciples. We therefore have several small groups and their focus is to help us grow as disciples, but that happens in lots of ways! We encourage our groups to pray for and with each other, to experiment together with new ways in which to grow closer to Jesus, to eat and share life together, to rejoice together and to lament together.
We help the groups find new ways to pray, to read and encounter God through the bible and to engage in spiritual practices which will help each person to find new ways to grow in depth. Some of the groups meet weekly and others fortnightly and we keep the numbers to a maximum of 8 people in order to help the groups become safe places where each member is loved, supported, encouraged and challenged. It doesn't matter what stage of the faith journey you're on - if you want to grow in your walk with Jesus then we'd love you to join a group.

ENGAGE...

​There is also Engage which is for our young people, which meets once a month. Anyone is welcome to join a group, whatever stage you are at on the faith journey. Be in touch with Hannah Jeffery to find out more.
