Since beginning the Eco Church group at St Giles in late 2021, we have been working towards a Bronze award on the A Rocha Eco Church scheme. We have introduced many measures at St Giles for the five areas of Church Life. These are: * Worship and teaching, * Management of church buildings, * Management of church land,
* Community and global engagement and * Lifestyle. St Giles was finally awarded the Bronze Award on 28th March 2022 and we are now working towards the next step – Silver!

One measure that we have taken is to apply to be a Fairtrade Church. For many years we have been using Fairtrade items as part of the refreshments served at St Giles and we have celebrated Fairtrade Fortnight.
