PASTORAL CARE
We try to care both for our church community and the community of Desborough by offering a wide variety of services, ranging from lifts to hospital, delivery of meals, wellbeing groups and lots more! We have a wonderful team led by our Lay Pastoral Minister, Cath Smith, who do visiting and go into our local care homes.
See the diagram and information below for some of what we do and please be in touch with Cath Smith (Lay Pastoral Minister) if you’d either like to get involved with any of these ministries as new volunteers/helpers are always needed, or if you know someone who would benefit from them. All our volunteers are DBS checked and have been trained in Safeguarding matters.
In particular on Wednesdays, 10am til 12noon, our Wellbeing Team offer a warm welcome at our drop-in Cafes, which take place in the Community Centre; all are welcome to join us for refreshments. Kim Rowbotham, Bereavement Support Worker, will also be in attendance if you would like to meet with her.
Care Home Services – Home Communion
A monthly Songs of Praise is held in each of the Care Homes in Desborough and Braybrooke.
Communion can be brought to you at home if you are unable to get to church for any reason, either short term, eg after an operation or illness, or long term if you become less mobile.
