THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
SUNDAY SERVICE - 17TH JANUARY 2021

We have a varied worship pattern and all are welcome at any of our services. Whilst we try to vary our style of worship in order to help folk from different traditions and of different encounter God in a way that is helpful for them, our main aim is to enable worship that helps all of us meet with the living God.

worship pattern...

Due to national lockdown the Church Council will shortly be meeting to consider worship in the church buildings.

1ST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

10am: Parade Service. This relaxed and informal service is for all ages, and we are joined by the uniformed groups and their families. Often the Band play for the worship.

2ND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

10am: Holy Communion – usually a more traditional service, accompanied by the organ. There are groups for children of school age, and younger children are very welcome to stay in the service with their parents. We have a designated Children’s Area where there are activity sheets, and books to help keep them entertained.
6pm: Healing service – a service focussed on prayer for healing.

3RD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

10am: All Age service. Again a relaxed and informal service for all ages, which includes a short talk just for the adults with a separate children’s activity. The All Age Service Team lead this service, and the team consists of all ages. If you’d like to join be in touch with Hannah Jeffery.

4TH SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

9.30am: Mini Church in the Community Centre. Designed especially for families. A short, relaxed service, lots of fun and always doughnuts.

10am: Holy Communion – a more traditional service geared at adults (families are encouraged to go to Mini Church), although children are always welcome.

6pm: Evensong – a more traditional service for those who like this style of worship.

5TH SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

We meet with one of our sister churches in the Benefice for a combined service.
We also have Praise services once a quarter on a Sunday evening with contemporary worship led by our Band.
