worship @ st giles
We have a varied worship pattern and all are welcome at any of our services.
As we ease out of lockdown we have some safety measures in place to protect the vulnerable amongst us, the basics are as follows:
Masks should be worn as you enter the Church, whilst singing and as you leave; this means you are welcome to remove masks whilst seated (unless singing).
Social-Distancing will not be enforced, however half of the Church is now a zone for social distancing (south side).
In order to adhere to guidelines the 'children's corner' has been removed temporarily.
Three times a week we produce a Thought for the Day which you can access here breaksout.new-wine.org/programme/?date=2021-07-29#programme
We also record our Sunday Worship and that can also be accessed here www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAxi9u4D3j0
Worship in the church building:
Sundays at 10am
1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays Holy Communion
2nd and 4th Sundays All Age Worship
Our all age services are geared to all ages and are informal and fun! Our communion services are relaxed and informal and children are warmly welcomed.
Wednesdays at 11am
Services alternate between Holy Communion and a Service of the Word, all are welcome.
Booking is no longer required for any of the services, but it would help the wardens and stewards if you are able to let Wendy East know you will be attending and how many people; if you are unable to do that please come anyway! Wendy's contact details are: 01536 506037 or email@example.com
3RD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH
10am: All Age service. Again a relaxed and informal service for all ages, which includes a short talk just for the adults with a separate children’s activity. The All Age Service Team lead this service, and the team consists of all ages. If you’d like to join be in touch with Hannah Jeffery.
4TH SUNDAY OF THE MONTH
9.30am: Mini Church in the Community Centre. Designed especially for families. A short, relaxed service, lots of fun and always doughnuts.
10am: Holy Communion – a more traditional service geared at adults (families are encouraged to go to Mini Church), although children are always welcome.
6pm: Evensong – a more traditional service for those who like this style of worship.
5TH SUNDAY OF THE MONTH
We meet with one of our sister churches in the Benefice for a combined service.
We also have Praise services once a quarter on a Sunday evening with contemporary worship led by our Band.
