A Cartridge in a Bare Tree
Considering all of the bright colours, tinsel, lights and varied decorations you will see at the Christmas tree festival today, who would have thought that this would be the tree that started it all.

In 1998 Alan Window proposed to his wife that the decoration for their Christmas tree that year should be a completely needleless tree with a bullet as the sole decoration, or A Cartridge in a Bare Tree, a play on words of famous Christmas song.
Disappointed that this would not be allowed Alan approached St Giles Church to instead host a Christmas tree festival that would allow him to display his tree. They said yes. The first festival was held in 1999 and has been held every year since (including a virtual one during lockdown last year). The rest they say is His-tree. |
